Debra Johnson is the writer, editor, and creative mind behind She Likes to Read! This blog was created to help inspire others to develop a passion for reading and writing. Debra has been an avid reader since she was a young child. After winning literary and writing awards, she went on to major in English in college. Debra graduated with honors from Texas Southern University, where she became a member of Lambda Iota Tau Literary Honor Society.

After she completed her undergraduate education, Debra became a certified English, Language Arts, and Reading teacher. After working as a full time classroom teacher, Debra went on to pursue a JD and graduated in 2011 from Thurgood Marshall School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. She continues to teach English part time, focusing on essay writing, spelling, and grammar skills to prepare students for college-level courses.
